Term Life

Coverage for a set period. It can help protect loved ones during years of income, mortgage or family responsibilities if a covered death occurs while the policy is in force.

Coverage ends with the term unless continued under the policy’s renewal or conversion provisions.

Whole Life

Permanent life insurance designed for lifelong protection, with cash value, when required premiums are paid and policy conditions are met.

Review the premium commitment and how loans or withdrawals could affect policy values and benefits.

Indexed Universal Life (IUL)

Permanent life insurance with cash-value interest linked to an index formula, subject to caps, participation rates and other policy terms. Fees and insurance charges affect value.

It is not direct stock-market investing or a promise of retirement returns. Adequate funding is needed to keep coverage in force.

Final Expense

Life insurance intended to help loved ones with funeral costs and other final expenses when a covered benefit is paid.

Plan for final expenses →

Mortgage Protection

Life insurance selected to help loved ones manage mortgage costs after a covered death. Match the benefit and coverage period to your family’s needs.

This is not lender-protecting PMI, and it does not guarantee that your mortgage will be paid off.

Annuities

Separate insurance contracts that may provide retirement income under their terms. Review suitability, costs and access to your money.

Availability varies by product, insurer and state. Eligibility, underwriting, policy or contract terms, and suitability requirements apply. Not every option fits every person.

Understand your options

More clarity. Fewer assumptions.

Living benefits

Support during a qualifying illness.

Some eligible life insurance policies or riders may let you access part of the death benefit while you’re living if you meet the contract’s requirements for a qualifying illness.

Ask which conditions qualify and how benefits are calculated. Definitions, availability, fees and limits vary. Using a benefit can reduce the death benefit and policy value.

A living-benefit rider is not automatically long-term care insurance. Not every illness or policy qualifies.

Simplified issue

A streamlined application. Still a review.

Simplified-issue life insurance may not require a medical exam. You may still answer health questions, and the insurer may review records to determine eligibility.

It is not the same as guaranteed issue, and approval is not automatic. Costs, available coverage and underwriting requirements vary by insurer and policy.

Ask when full benefits begin and whether waiting periods or graded benefits apply. A simpler application does not promise immediate full coverage.

Joe can help you check which options, if any, fit your situation and are available in your state.

Final-expense coverage

Leave a plan, not a GoFundMe.

Give your loved ones room to grieve, with a plan for the expenses that may follow.

Families turn to their communities in difficult moments. There’s no shame in asking for help. Planning ahead for funeral costs and other final expenses can help reduce the financial burden on the people you love.

Final-expense coverage is life insurance intended to help with these costs when a covered death benefit is paid. Start with a benefit amount and ongoing premium that fit your needs and budget.

  • Review existing coverage and the expenses you want to plan for.
  • Ask about eligibility, exclusions and any waiting or graded-benefit period.
  • Make sure your chosen beneficiary knows where to find your policy.

Approval and immediate full coverage are not guaranteed. Benefits depend on policy terms and keeping required premiums paid. A policy may not cover every expense or eliminate a family’s need for support.

Annuities · A retirement conversation

Plan for more days on the water.

Picture a slower morning, a familiar river and time with your favorite person. Then talk through the financial resources your retirement may need.

Life insurance primarily helps protect beneficiaries after a covered death. An annuity is a separate contract with an insurance company that may provide income during retirement, depending on its terms.

Annuities are not right for everyone. Consider your goals, available savings and need for access to your money. Review costs, fees, surrender charges, withdrawal restrictions, risks and income options before deciding.

More time for the things you love.

No investment return or lifestyle is promised. Product availability and suitability vary. Any contractual guarantees depend on the issuing insurer’s claims-paying ability.
